Has anyone notice Tyra Gittens is not on the track roster. She DNS in the long jump yesterday and was not at the meet.

I thought it was weird too that she wasn't at the meet! Maybe Covid protocols, but to not be on the roster is STRANGE! That's a possible 25 points gone from our team! She has graduated and I'm sure every brand has been after her! After the Bowerman preseason list, her speech there, and her being listed in the heat sheets, this decision might have been made VERY VERY RECENTLY!

Seems like another blow to.aggietrk at this time during the season but all the best to her on her future endeavors

Really sucks, but thankful for all she's done while an Aggie, one of my all time favorites! She's going to have a long long successful career and I can't wait to watch!! Hopefully Lamara can step up, in both the high jump and triple like you said! And hopefully Bara Sajdokova's injury last year wasn't so bad and she can score quickly here! The title chances drop significantly, but hopefully we can find points everywhere like a committee

Yeah I hope we were able to use her scholarship elsewhere, but what hurts is losing her helps Florida the most cause those are points for Anna Hall in the multi, and Moore in the long jump. Granted Acquah could score more and Distin is solidly top 2 and hopefully Sajdokova is top 3, but the points we lose are so much! We really need our sprinters to score and help us, along with Abadie and possibly Zhane Smith in the long jump, maybe the DMR is a must this season for any chance at a title

No clue! Surprised she wouldn't say it at the same time, unless she doesn't have a deal lined up and just wanted to let everyone know not to expect her running for A&M this year

I concur. It was not about what was done but how it was done. Just before competing for the team you pull out and left the team. You graduated since December and had ample time to decide what you wanted to do and tell the coaches and team you are done with competing for Texas A&M. I don't think it was an overnight decision and if it was then it leaves much to be desired.

Yup, was supposed to and expected to compete here! Was scheduled the first meet to compete in the maroon and white then bailed on her teammates, coaches, school, and fans!

Seems like late in the semester to enroll and become eligible to compete.

Feel slighted or under appreciated with Mu winning the Bowerman last year and not her (she certainly would have been a worthy recipient in her own right)? I don't understand these student athletes leaving their teammates and school. We have had several in the last five years and going to tu is just icing on the cake. How do they not realize that they burn a lot of goodwill with alums (possible furure employers or financial backers) by transferring to Austin. Anyone out there have a clue?

That's exactly my point. Athletes of her caliber don't stay at a school they're unhappy with for four years, do everything that she's done then transfer abruptly before start of season unless something else is going wrong that isn't being said. From what I understand she was arguably the most involved (gave speeches to donors, regularly hosted donors at football games etc.) female track athlete we've had in a while. Also athletes don't have control over when they get interviewed and articles are posted, not too mention they edited this article stating she never told them she was going pro.
