The way they redesigned Atlanta is honestly what they should have done to Texas. Atlanta had good racing on the old setup.

Today was fun but I'm not sure I want to see all intermediates become pack racing like the supers. What was missing today was good cars flat beating out worse cars. Nobody could break away with this car package and that made good old fashioned passing virtually impossible. It was all momentum and the push behind you. I enjoyed it but I am ok with variety.

The biggest thing imo is that they're making changes so not every intermediate track runs virtually the same, which is good.

Only way to improve the racing at TMS is to blow it up.

On that note...Fontana is getting reconfigured to a short track, but the race there earlier this season was awesome. The new car has flipped the script on the action at certain tracks. All intermediates with the exception of Texas have provided great action. Short tracks have sucked, and road courses have still been fine but we lost the hilarity of heavy cars made for ovals trying to navigate and brake in spots they shouldn't be able to.

Bell takes the win on Truex's day. Marty with the dominant car and let 170 laps of whatever it was, but the 2 tire strategy was a bad late call.

Bell is on a Loudon heater and keeps winning there. 14th winner of the year. What a season so far for nascar

I had to drive from College Station to Wichita Falls and listed to the race on XM's NASCAR channel. Man, they do a pretty good job of keeping things exciting. Lol.

Truex seemed pretty pissed off after the race based on his comments.

Its musical chairs for wins and he's running out of chances for a win. Almost worse for him that his teammate got a chair today when his car was so dominant. I'd be pissed too.

He and Blaney need one bad. I wonder if Marty is thinking about heading up to Canada to try and get Cole Pearn out of retirement

Also of note today, Chastain got into a car slightly but otherwise didn't piss people off. Brad and Dillon, 2 chodes (imo) got very heated and Brad had a 2nd grade style retaliation on track but still finished 7th.

I obviously didn't see Hamlin bump Chastain. The radio guys talked about it a bit, though. I can't imagine that was the retaliation we have been expecting. I'm thinking that comes during the playoffs.

At 1:25. It was a tap. I agree the retaliation is coming in the playoffs.

Nah. Hamlin bumped him in a safe position. It was absolutely to let him know he was there and could take the position by doing that if he wanted but it was a safe move. Egging him on for sure but definitely not the retaliation move. Just something for him to think about.

I listened to his interview after the race and he came off like a conceited dick. Basically said he was prepared to drive a crappy car and deal with it before the race started. Sounded like he was bagging on his team but patting himself non the back for the finish.

Yeah I heard it too, it did come off odd. That said, if anyone in the garage should have a pass to throw his crew under a bus, it's Bubba. They've been a comedy of errors all year.

Road America over the 4th seemed to be a wild success. TBD on a street course.

Go back to the oval at Indy and keep RA. New car could improve the product at the Brickyard.

I'll give it one shot, and if it works well then I'd be fine as a 1-off but I completely agree. I fully understand NASCAR is trying to tap into the Drive to Survive success that F1 is bringing all of motorsports, but don't dilute your own product. I like both racing leagues for different reasons.
