These cars might be slow but they're strong

Great finish. RCR has some speed (3 of the top 5 in their engines)

Here's a tidbit you'll hear more about this week for the new car proponents....

9 out of the top 10 cars today were from different race teams. That's gotta make the brass happy.

They talked about Harvick's practice crash during the broadcast, how with the old car that 100% would have lead to rolling off the backup car. Instead they repaired this one and he finished in the top 10.

That's impressive no matter how you look at it.

Amazing crowd and fun race. Weird to say about auto club speedway. Good for a lot of drivers today. Kyle Larson is a top 5 driver of anything in the world right now.

Thought today was a good race. Was good seeing cars working multiple lanes and not just single lane racing. Hopefully this becomes a new trend as we move forward.

Another neat thing about this car, the pipes coming out both sides of the car allows you to see the flames on the driver side on TV indicating the driver is letting off the gas

Did anybody go to COTA last year or has been for F1? Looking at grabbing some GA tickets this year, but wondering what kind of views I will get with that? Any help/advice appreciated.

Yes I went last year (posted some photos from our seats in Main Grandstand a couple pages back). While we had assigned seats we moved around a good deal.

Here's a few photos from GA areas that we felt were pretty fun vantage points



Let's just hope there isn't a tropical storm formed over the track like last year so the grassy areas don't turn into mud. Had to be real careful moving around on the hills last year.

What are thoughts on the reconfigure at Atlanta? I love pack racing so I will enjoy it but ultimately feel like this should have been done more at Texas than Atlanta.

Although, with the way they've been at Texas, they'd reconfigure it and still put down a slather of PJ1

Fun race. Lots of wrecks, though. Seems like there were only 20 cars running at the end and half of them wrecked while they were fighting for position around the last turn of the race. William Byron in the 24 Liberty University Hendricks car is your winner today.

Road course next week so I'll not be watching. I'm not a fan of stock cars on road tracks.

I liked today's race. Thought it was good. I usually don't like road courses but will give COTA one more chance after the weather made a mess out of it last year.
