I heard it is not a current college coach - but a club coach.

He's a former U.S. Olympic coach that was coaching club in Orlando. His wife is also a former Olympic diver.

So far so good, Jaele dove pretty well this past weekend. She was 2 dives away from knocking off Anastasia from UH (NCAA Champion). Excited to see what he can do with some of those divers; boys and girls both.

Just read the release. Is there some kind of a package deal going on here, is his wife going to assist? Or maybe they're going to start a club program similar to the one UH has, and she'll head that?

Who knows. He is not here yet though. Rumor has it he will start in the spring. The Woodlands club coach will fill in in the interim.

I've heard a big reason for the move is that one of his daughters got a job in Houston, and they wanted to be closer to her. Lucky us, right?

aggienk, Agreed, he really is. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that S&D are probably amongst the sports where, if you have a quality program, it's easiest to be confident that you will consistently be in the top 15-20 every year and score big director's cup points.

He could invest, say, several million dollars in a football coach, and that team might still crash and burn. If you bring in good swim coaches, and provide them good facilities, they WILL be a top 15 program every year. Just the nature of the sport, and it's also much easier to acclimate freshmen quickly to the program and expect top performances from them than it is in team sports.

Sound like BB scored another hit!

5 of those football scholarships would go a long way in beefing up the mens team.
