Agreed. How sweet would it be if there were enough in Reed that they'd have to open up the upper deck? (For those that haven't seen the setup, wouldn't take as many as basketball, because the normal student section for bball is curtained off).

Probably won't happen, but it'd be incredible if it did. We might be the last thing between t.u. and running the table in the Big 12.

I think Texas is en route to the national championship game, a Penn State-Texas matchup would be absolutely killer. I'd love to see Hooker vs. Hodge. I bet the NCAA will put the teams on opposite sides of the bracket in hopes that will happen.

However, I will be rooting hard for the Aggies on Wednesday. Maybe you all can take them to five sets and wear 'em out for our Friday match. :-) Otherwise I'm afraid we'd be lucky to take even one set against them.

I think you're probably right Husker, and I don't think that anybody (except for the poor souls that have to play them) will be mad at them for doing so.

As usual, we're well outmatched by the Horns' talent, but never bet against a home underdog in a rivalry game! Always a good match, I'm upset I won't be in town to see it. Will it be online for free anywhere?

By rule, the Longhorns would have to be the 4th national seed (not going to happen if things stay as they are) to be on the same side of the bracket.

Yeah, you're right, it would be ridiculous at this point to make Texas the fourth #1 seed.

Texas has a tough schedule for the next three matches (Texas A&M in College Station, Nebraska in Austin, ISU in Ames), of those three matches I'd probably say the Cyclones have the best chance to beat them. Sad to say, I expect a sweep of Nebraska, and I don't know what to expect out of Texas A&M, rivalry games can be weird...I hope you take them to five sets and wear them down for Friday. LOL.

In a Texas-Penn State matchup, Penn State would be favored but I think Texas has a good chance to take them down, better than any other team. Maybe PSU has an edge over Texas at setter but I'm not even sure about that--Ashley Engle is no slouch and has made the switch to setter much better than I would have thought. Having such a hitting force that happens to be a left-hander at that position is a great weapon. Texas has dominated this year, too, even on the road against teams like Hawaii and Nebraska. It would be one hell of a match.

Of course, I'll be rooting for the Huskers in the tournament but before the season started I thought this would be a bit of a rebuilding year as we work our freshmen into the lineup, and that appears to be the case. I expected Tara Mueller to turn into the "go-to" hitter since Jordan Larson graduated but that hasn't materialized. Hannah Werth looks like she will be a superstar in the coming years though. We only lose one player to graduation so next year I think Nebraska will be poised for a better run.

Anyway, good luck to the Aggies on Wednesday and the rest of the season, except for November 13th. :-) I'd love to see you all get into the tournament, a good showing Wednesday will be important.

I've never checked a volleyball gametracker before. It's actually pretty coool how they show the serve and how the point plays out (along with the kills/errors/etc.).

Faustus, don't worry, that joke has been played out repeatedly. She's also a national champion high jumper, and I believe she may have the NCAA record. It was hilarious her freshman year, but now that she destroys A&M in 2 sports every year, it doesn't provide the same amusement.

Texas is 36-1 in Big12 play, only dropping a set at Neb, so not winning a set is not a bad thing.

I don't think our track team could care any less about what she's doing on the high jump...

Yea, wasnt the best game for us, but man that Hammer costume guy was freakin incredible! I wish I was that creative

I was yelling pretty loud for that wizard. We were just outclassed and couldn't put a ball away. It's really not that we played all that badly, but their block was just massive and it really forced a lot of mistakes. They were having triple blocks up on 2 balls and we didn't vary up the offense enough to really make the blockers keep guessing. I like Schevi a lot as a setter, but I wouldn't have minded seeing Jola come in and trying to get a different tempo going. I know Schevi runs a quicker offense, but we weren't able to establish our middles at all. Tough game by Alisia, but I thought Kelsey did a good job stepping up and helping out with the block. It's a bit crazy seeing a 5'10" middle at the D1 level!

All in all, they really didn't play bad - Texas is just THAT good. They don't serve as aggressively as Penn State does and they had a few lapses passing, but we just weren't able to push them at all. Engle is friggin' good - those options she hit were just unbelievable

but we did totally nail that one short stuff on tu's team right in the chest. That thud sounded like a sack of potatoes gettin side kicked. I made sure I laughed extra hard for that moment of greatness! I dont remember whoes cannon it came off of but I think it was either Sarah or Mary.
