Lady Ags are now down 20-10 in match 3. I believe they had a 2-0 match lead against Missouri or someone, and fell 3-2.

Really need to pull this one out on the road. Game 3 was a disaster. 25-12 BU.

Texas A&M won more crucial points than No. 17 Baylor and took home a 3-1 victory over the Bears in front of a program-record crowd of 3,022

Too bad we had to disappoint so many people.

I have a Baylor friend that is involved with Baylor volleyball and they are not having one of the line judges work games anymore on request of the Baylor Volleyball assistant coach because the line judge calls "too fair of a game and calls don't lean towards Baylor's way"

This was due to a call in the 4th set of the A&M/Baylor match

The line judge in question was asked a couple of weeks ago to call NCAA Tourney games due to his fairness and requests from multiple "official" referees that visit Baylor and love working with the line judge.

Just thought it was funny and surprised that the home team provides the line judges and coaches have that much say so.

Although the conference is responsible for hiring and providing the Referees (the Up and Down Refs at the net), each individual school is actually responsible for hiring and finding line judges for their matches. Usually these folks are not paid well enough to bring in someone from out of town so it usually falls in the hands of local volleyball folk (often times people who are certified to ref for high school games and the like but do not have sufficient certification or experience for the NCAA level). Its interesting that they have chosen to not use that young man's services any longer, but I know which call they were talking about and the Baylor bench was clearly upset about it. I didn't have a good enough vantage point to know if I agree of disagree with the line judge, but I think its funny how everyone else always thinks they can see it better than someone who is positioned directly on the line for the sole purpose of judging in/out calls. Of course, line judges are still human and can make mistakes, but anything that is obviously a mistake should be overruled by the Up Ref anyway.
