You are the 2009 US Open fairytale story. Please find a way to win tomorrow.

I was not a fan of yours back in your skinny days, but I will be pulling for your tomorrow.

Good luck.

He started out penguiny, then got skinny and sucked, now he's back penguiny and it works.

Hahahahah I've never heard him described as penguiny, but that's hilarious...and dead on. He was my favorite golfer back in his prime, so I'm definitely pulling for him.

Hope he stays back. As stone-faced as he is, he and Els were my two favorite golfers back in the late 90's and early 2000's.

With this being the last year of his full exemption, a tie for 2nd is huge in helping him earn his exemption for next year.

Never heard of him referred to as penguiny. But, I disagree with the poster that said he got skinny and started to suck.

It was more like he was penguiny and was pretty darn good but couldn't win a tournament. Had plent of top 10s in the mid to late 90s. Then he got into shape and got skinny and then he started to turn some of those top 10s into wins.

I remember when he first came on tour in the mid 90s. Even got to see him play at Colonial in 1995. He was pretty portly back then. He got into good shape and actually that was when he started winning and playing well in the late 90s/early 2000s.

I will say, I was suprised to see he has put back on quite a bit of weight this week. I don't think that is what has affected his golf game though.

Glad to see you back DD. Golf has missed you!
