Michael and Jans dinner party in the office is all that compares

I agree, I felt like there was a lot of buildup for a search of an office? Kinda lame.
quote:yeah...it's possible it is genuine with Pastor Tim....but maybe not. TBD.
I actually think the Pastor Tim stuff might be genuine conflict, but not sure.
I think the reason it got drug out was they were waiting for the right time to need access to level 4. I'm sure the codes change often, so it wouldn't do them any good to get William access to nothing. While waiting for the right opportunity, Elizabeth develops a real bond with Yong-Hee.
quote:Exactly what I was thinking of during the dinner scene.

That was his second WTF statement in recent weeks. "We're into social justice with a healthy dose of Jesus..."
I'm guess the producers were getting harassed by their Hollywood buddies for having too "good" of a Christian character, so they had to liberal him up.
quote:It's pretty typical for a mainline protestant denomination. Strong on the social justice stuff, wishy-washy on the gospel. See here for a good satire article on that topic.
pastor tim tells elizabeth he prays for guidance, elizabeth says she doesnt pray, isnt into religion and doesnt believe in God, and pastor tim responds with "none of that matters. all that matters is how we treat each other"
wtf? a Christian preacher who says it doesnt matter whether or not you believe in God?
is tim something other than he appears? buddhist? cia? probably not. kgb or a soviet sympathizer? perhaps. maybe even moreso if the ruskies actually did save him in ethiopa.
i just thought that statement seemed very odd from a preacher

#1) Bon Jovi is ruining his career with these DirectTV commercials
#2) I hope Keri's ass is in the new contract
#3) Great episode! Freaking love this show

I am just glad that they don't have him wearing a clerical collar. One of my pet peeves is when television shows have any type of pastor wear a clerical collar when it would be pretty clear from a little research that very few protestant pastors wear one.
quote:I was also raised in the Methodist Church and most of my friends from that time are now hardcore leftists. I believe some still attend the Methodist Church.
Not to derail thread, but the "World Methodist Social Affirmation" is a large reason why I am no longer a methodist after having grown up in that church. The seeds of that one go back to the methodist episcopal church and the progressive movement of the early 1900's.
If we want to look at convenient places for socialists to lay low in our country, look no farther than your local denomination.
