The breaking bad dinner party with Jessie and skyler and Walt was intense. Edit - just noticed the visual reference above. Lol

But this was a great one too.

anyone think this Yoong-Hee loooooong play was a little overdone?

I mean it seems like it was done (by the writers) simply to give Elizabeth some internal conflict. Could have been done much sooner, I'm not sure why she had to get sooooo involved with Young-Hee. Seems like she could have done the exact same plan after only meeting the family once or twice.

She basically shows up when she is away asks for help, drugs him, fakes the sex scene then shows up pregnant.

Then the actual operation to recover info is turned over to Philip et al.

So I suppose the response is it might not have worked (getting him to help her) if she was not so well known to the family... or he would not have had wine with her......perhaps.

Not a big complaint just it seemed so built up and then pulled off rather quickly in the end.

I agree, I felt like there was a lot of buildup for a search of an office? Kinda lame.

.....unless.......I just had a thought.......

what if she is now doing the same thing (sort of) to Pastor Tim?????

Suddenly she seems to be showing up whenever and wherever Pastor Tim is and they "talk" and she seems to be opening up to him (but without really saying anything). Could be just buying his trust......

Maybe the longterm plan there they decided is not to kill him, but have him sleep with Elizabeth too so they then have something to hold over him as well.

Not that she would get pregnant but maybe photos or video or some way to blackmail him back abou the tapes and buying his silence.

So then the Young-Hee would just be establishing how she does that, and then making us think she is really opening up to Pastor Tim (and troubled about her Young-Hee conflict) when she is really playing him.

I actually think the Pastor Tim stuff might be genuine conflict, but not sure.

I think the reason it got drug out was they were waiting for the right time to need access to level 4. I'm sure the codes change often, so it wouldn't do them any good to get William access to nothing. While waiting for the right opportunity, Elizabeth develops a real bond with Yong-Hee.

I am glad the Young-Hee story line is over, I was very tired of it.

"I hope Keri's ass is in the new contract"

Amen! One scene but they have shown it in the last two week's "previously on". The more the better. So hot!

yeah...it's possible it is genuine with Pastor Tim....but maybe not. TBD.

as for the timing of Don thing. Well they never really gave us any indication it was time sensitive. Just seemed like she was working her/them until a certain point of familiarity. But I suppose it could have been simply that they were willing to wait and of course Philip and Elizabeth had sort of been put on timeout. They kept working contacts but little or no operations. So maybe it was simply waiting until they were ready to put rhem back in action. But that seemed to maybe backfire if so, because Elizabeth was now deeply affected.

We'll see on all of it I guess.

edit - and I do think Elizabeths conflict is real, I'm just not sure if her opening up to Pastor Tim is genuine or using that to establish a bond for other reasons.

pastor tim tells elizabeth he prays for guidance, elizabeth says she doesnt pray, isnt into religion and doesnt believe in God, and pastor tim responds with "none of that matters. all that matters is how we treat each other"

wtf? a Christian preacher who says it doesnt matter whether or not you believe in God?

is tim something other than he appears? buddhist? cia? probably not. kgb or a soviet sympathizer? perhaps. maybe even moreso if the ruskies actually did save him in ethiopa.

i just thought that statement seemed very odd from a preacher

That was his second WTF statement in recent weeks. "We're into social justice with a healthy dose of Jesus..."

I'm guess the producers were getting harassed by their Hollywood buddies for having too "good" of a Christian character, so they had to liberal him up.

The first attempt at spying on Don was when Elizabeth babysat for them. She had to establish some sort of relationship with them to have them leave their kids with her.

Not to steer this in the wrong direction but I'm pretty much done with my current church because the new pastor is a disciple of the Church of Social Justice.
aggiesq

that might be it.

i thought him saying that was odd too, in part because i thought "was the phrase "social justice" in common use back in the 80s?" i dont remember that being the case, i though it was a more recent lefty branding effort, like last 10 or 15 years

It's pretty typical for a mainline protestant denomination. Strong on the social justice stuff, wishy-washy on the gospel. See here for a good satire article on that topic.

I am just glad that they don't have him wearing a clerical collar. One of my pet peeves is when television shows have any type of pastor wear a clerical collar when it would be pretty clear from a little research that very few protestant pastors wear one.

My confidence that Paige can keep it under wraps that her mom stabbed a dude in the neck is near 0%.

or

Maybe its a turning point for her, realizing that the world is a gritty place and shes been sheltered all these years.

I think the dude that got away heard her yell Paige's name a couple times so theres that.

Not to derail thread, but the "World Methodist Social Affirmation" is a large reason why I am no longer a methodist after having grown up in that church. The seeds of that one go back to the methodist episcopal church and the progressive movement of the early 1900's.

If we want to look at convenient places for socialists to lay low in our country, look no farther than your local denomination.

No way Pastor Tim falls for any seduction - he would see that coming a mile away...even with Keri's tempting ass.

I was also raised in the Methodist Church and most of my friends from that time are now hardcore leftists. I believe some still attend the Methodist Church.

I actually think that if the pastor turns out to be a sympathizer, it would reflect poorly on SJWs. To have a show as popular as this basically connect SJWs to communism would be a bold statement indeed.

How much of a reach would it be to think that the Feds investigate a murder of a street thug and find the other friend/mugger and he tells them it was a mother/daughter and says the name Paige.

Would not take long for Stan to connect those dots I would think. Especially near the volunteer place where Pastor Tim is who he also met.

This could have much more implications than just Paige realizing her mom is a trained assassin.
