TexAgs' senior recruiting analyst Jason Howell joined TexAgs Live on Wednesday morning for another edition of Recruiting Country presented by American Momentum Bank, highlighting the latest news and notes from the recruiting and transfer portal trail surrounding Texas A&M.

Texas A&M already has a quarterback and two offensive linemen committed in the class of 2027, but Mike Elko & Co. are drawing interest from many of the nation's top running backs, receivers, tight ends and offensive linemen as the 2027s take over in the spotlight.

Mike Elko and his staff just hosted their first big-time high school recruiting weekend, welcoming a strong group of local and national prospects for the Lone Star Elite Day on Saturday. Already a success, the weekend produced a commitment and plenty of other positives.

It was a weekend of firsts for 2027 Richmond (VA) Benedictine TE Sam Faniel, as it was his first time in Texas and his first time checking out the Texas A&M program. Faniel spoke to TexAgs about his weekend experience, receiving his Texas A&M offer and his upcoming plans.
