Up two spots from No. 16, Jamie Morrison’s Aggies are taking steady steps in the right direction.
The ramp-up to SEC play provided a few RPI boosters, facing two quality non-Power Four foes and a ranked win over Creighton.
Perhaps the most impressive part of the last week is how Texas A&M is winning with who they have available.
To open up the SEC slate, the Aggies were without four usual starters: Natalie Ring, Kaia Castle, Eliza Sharp and Addi Applegate. Those three attackers are responsible for 42.8 percent of A&M's point production so far this season.
Sunday served as a nice reminder of how deep this roster is. There was no drop-off in efficiency as the Aggies swept South Carolina.
Coming off her best performance yet, per Morrison, Kirra Musgrove is quarterbacking A&M’s offense at a high level over the last six games, as the team is hitting .440 off sets from the sophomore.
Against Rice and South Carolina this past week, the Aggies have held their opponents to a .072 hitting percentage while firing at a .348 clip.
It’s the best week they have had this season as far as hitting efficiency and side-out percentage.
Although the Aggies may not be healthy right now, they are finding ways to execute, regardless of who is on the floor.
Their homestand will continue this weekend, hosting Alabama on Friday and Mississippi State on Sunday.
