Texas A&M Men's Golf
* Knew that the SEC would be a challenge. Is a great league in every sport.
* The John A.Burns Intercollegiate Tournament in Hawaii has a top heavy course. Some top teams in the nation are at this tournament, like No. 1 Cal and No. 3 New Mexico. Some lower caliber teams as well. Should be able to compete with top teams.
* Very competitive to make a travel roster for Hawaii. Six out of twelve make the trip. Best GPA in the fall is guaranteed to make the trip. Case Cochran is nearly a 4.0 student so he gets a fourth trip to Hawaii.
* Will be practicing 5 to 6 hours a day, visiting beaches, swimming with dolphins, and whale watching in Hawaii. 75-80% of time will be spent practicing and competing.
* Cameron Peck always gives the team his best and is a great leader.
* Ty Dunlap has tremendous talent, all the tools to be fantastic, and a great short game. Injured himself but made a very fast recovery.
* Johannes Veerman had a very fast recovery. First tournament back from injuring his hand last year was the Big 12 Championship and finished top ten.
* Greg Yates is showing a lot of improvement. Working hard on course management, short game, and mental skills. Everything is coming together for him now.
* Drew Evans has been a big surprise. Only played one tournament his first four years. Came back with a great attitude and finished fifth in Florida and second in qualifier.
* Vegas tournament is the Masters of college golf. Great competition with teams from all over the country.
* Favorite course is Inverness because National Championship was won there.
* Prairie Dunes course is not very long but challenging.
* Bronson Burgoon's shot in the 2009 NCAA title game was best shot in college golf history. Ranked by Golfweek as the ninth best shot in the history of golf at any level.
* There is not a bad team in the SEC. All SEC teams rank in the top 45.
* Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Arkansas are main SEC competition.
