You can never have enough speed in the SEC, and the Aggies just got a whole lot faster as one of the nation’s most electric playmakers announced his Texas A&M commitment.

Equipped with 4.3 speed, IMG Academy’s Eric McFarland III‍ has been a standout performer at the highest level of high school football, earning back-to-back team Offensive Player of the Year honors.

A homerun threat any time he has the ball in his hands, the 5-foot-8 and 175-pound receiver recorded 574 yards and eight touchdowns on 36 receptions in 2024, and followed up the effort with 595 yards and 11 touchdowns on 29 receptions in 2025.

Originally from Las Vegas, McFarland re-classified from 2028 to 2027 in December and immediately became one of the top overall prospects in the class. In January, he was a standout performer in the Under Armour All-American Game, and he earned Offensive MVP of the Polynesian Bowl.

McFarland received his A&M offer in February of 2025, with Holmon Wiggins leading the Aggies’ recruiting efforts. He becomes A&M’s 25th addition to the recruiting class and the 10th on the offensive side of the ball.

In addition to the Aggies, he received offers from coast to coast and strongly considered the likes of Georgia, USC and Ohio State during his recruiting process.
