BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – The Texas A&M men’s basketball team used a hot scoring night to roll past Jacksonville, 112-75, Sunday night inside of Reed Arena.

The Aggies had six players register double digits in the scoring column and 14 total players record a point. Rylan Griffen paced Texas A&M with season-high 19 points, shooting 7-of-8 (87.5%) from the field and 5-of-6 (83.3%) from the three-point line.

Jamie Vinson had a perfect 6-of-6 night from the field to record a career-high 14 points. Mackenzie Mgbako (13), Marcus Hill (12), Rubén Dominguez (10) and Ali Dibba (10) rounded out the six players who brought in double digit points.

Texas A&M enjoyed its best shooting night of the season, hitting 42-of-71 (59.2%) from the field. The Aggies made 12-of-25 (48.0%) from long range for their second-best 3-point shooting game of the year.

The Maroon & White made their presence felt on the inside within the first eight minutes of the game, recording 14 of their first 15 points in the paint to go with 10 rebounds down low to take a 15-9 lead. After a plethora of 3-pointers and a 12-0 run with 1:46 left in the half, the Aggies held a 46-22 advantage. Hill led the way with eight points, five assists, four rebounds and two steals as the Maroon & White entered the break with a 51-26 lead. The Aggies shot 58.3% (7-12) from the 3-point line and 63.6% (21-33) from the field in the half.

The Aggies’ offense did not let up out of the break with a 22-7 run in the first 5:06 of the second half, extending the lead to 73-33. Griffen recorded 11 of his 19 points in the half, shooting 5-of-6 from the field. The Maroon & White defense brought down 26 rebounds in the half, 12 of those being offensive boards, creating 15 second-chance points for the Aggies.

Physicality was shown from the Aggies as they recorded 54 points in the paint for the first time this season and created a 17-rebound advantage (42-25) with 14 players grabbing boards. The Maroon & White scored 20 points came off 19 Jacksonville turnovers.
