
Around Aggieland (6/23)
On Monday, Reece Nygren took us Around Aggieland as Aggie and Oklahoma City Thunder star Alex Caruso won his second NBA Finals. In addition, Mike Elko & Co. stay hot on the recruiting trail and track and field earned USTFCCCA South Central Region honors.
Baseball
Jacob Palisch makes his major league debut for the Chicago White Sox on June 21 against the Toronto Blue Jays. He pitched the eighth inning and allowed two runs. He’s the first Aggie to make his MLB debut this season and the fourth to make an appearance in the MLB. He played four minor league seasons and registered a 3.17 ERA in 94 appearances.
Recruiting
Five-star EDGE Tristian Givens commits to A&M. He is a 6-foot-4, 215-pounder from Columbus, Georgia. The Aggies beat out Tennessee, USC and Florida State. He is the 19th recruit from the class of 2026 overall.
Basketball
Alex Caruso won his second NBA Championship this time with the OKC Thunder. He averaged 10.1 points, with two 20-point games and 2.3 steals per game in the NBA Finals. This marks the fourth time in six seasons an Aggie has won the Finals.
Track & Field
Five Aggies received USTFCCCA South Central Region honors:

- Aleksandr Solovev: Men's Field Athlete of the Year
- Winny Bii: Women’s Field Athlete of the Year
- Mario Sategna: Women's Assistant Coach of the Year
