New Name to Know

OL Luke Wilson, Southlake Carroll – 2027

At 6-foot-6 and 265 pounds, Wilson started at left tackle and earned first-team all-district honors at one of the state’s premier programs, so before the tape is even turned on, there is plenty of intrigue.

The tape does not disappoint. He is a flat-bellied prospect with plenty of room for growth in his frame. He plays with quick feet and hands, blends brute force with technicality and possesses a strong combination of patience and power.

His football role models are a pair of Trents. The first is Trent Williams, the star 49ers left tackle from Longview, and the second is his brother Trent Wilson, who started alongside him at left guard this fall and signed with James Madison following a standout career as a Dragon.

Only a sophomore, the recruiting process is in the early stages, but Luke is beginning to draw attention. He has yet to receive his first offer, but he visited TCU, SMU and James Madison a few times this fall and interest is on the way.

A multi-sport athlete, Luke also competes in shot put and discus, and athletic ability is in the blood. In addition to his older brother, his father, Travis, was a tight end at TCU.
