Around Aggieland (12/20)
On Friday’s edition of TexAgs Live, Kay Naegeli took us Around Aggieland and provided updates on all things Texas A&M as the fall continues. Football added another transfer, basketball wraps up non-conference play and much more.
Football
The Aggies have added two more additions through the transfer portal, bringing that total to six.
- Mississippi State WR Mario Craver
- Nebraska TE Nate Boerkircher
Men’s Basketball
Winners of five straight, A&M men’s hoops hosts Houston Christian on Friday at 1 p.m.
A&M is one of four programs in the country with five combined Quadrant 1 and 2 wins, No. 12 Texas A&M boasts one of the most impressive non-conference resumes in college basketball.
Women’s Basketball
Joni Taylor said the last game before Christmas, she wanted her team focused, feeling good about where they were with conference play on the way and to be healthy. They checked off the list and got a win in Thursday’s 96-54 beatdown over Mississippi Valley State.
A&M will begin Southeastern Conference play on Jan. 2 against No. 18 Tennessee (9-0).
Volleyball
Jamie Morrison landed former Baylor outside Kyndal Stowers.
She was removed from the Baylor Volleyball roster due to decisions made by higher-ups on campus. She had multiple concussions, which led her to involuntary medically retire. Yet, she cleared by multiple doctors to continue my volleyball career elsewhere.
In high school, she was the No. 16 recruit in the nation by PrepVolleyball.com and the No. 1 player out of Texas, according to PrepDig.com. At Baylor, she was named Preseason Big 12 Freshman of the Year. In her 14 matches played, she had 12 matches with double-digit kills.
Softball
Florida's Ariel Kowalewski announced she is transferring to A&M. (Cow-a-loo-ski), who started 53 games at 3B and hit .308 with eight homers.
She properly entered during the winter portal window but since committing so late, midyear in-conference transfers have to sit a year. Could dispute it, but nonetheless a great piece to add with three years of eligibility.
Soccer
The Texas A&M soccer team is bolstering its roster with the addition of All-Mountain West Conference performer Trinity Buchanan from UNLV and West Coast Conference All-Freshman defender Hayden Wilson from Oregon State.
