Brauny's Best: Highlighting top high school performances from Week 7
We are inching closer and closer to playoff football (and hopefully some cooler weather) as we get into the meat of October. I said it last week, but where has the time gone? It feels like just yesterday we were gearing up for season openers. Anyway, here's this week's edition of Brauny's Best.
Texas A&M's Class
2025 Corona (CA) Centennial QB Husan Longstreet
- 10-13 passing, 216 yards, 3 touchdowns
- 4 carries, 32 yards, 1 touchdowns

That's a pretty efficient night for the California-based signal caller. He scored on a 33-yard zone-read keeper early in the game that showcased his skillset as a runner and overall mobility. He then went to work through the air, where he connected on a pair of 38-yard touchdowns and then capped his night with a 67-yard score on a tunnel screen. The first two scoring tosses were in-rhythm darts over the middle on a slant and then up the seam. Longstreet looked decisive and confident. When he's playing that way, there aren't many prep quarterbacks in the country that flash the raw talent that he possesses.
State of Texas
2025 Duncanville WR Dakorien Moore
- 9 receptions, 231 yards, 4 touchdowns
There are players in the state that had better stat lines than the Oregon commit did last Friday night, but none of them did it against DeSoto. That performance against the competition level won out for me. This kid is sensational, and it's hard to imagine him not being an immediate impact type of player at the next level. He's both a fantastic prospect and a productive player. The quickness, body control and speed jump off the screen. I said this last December when I first saw Moore in person in the state championship game, but it feels like he's going to score a touchdown every time he touches the ball.

2025 Cy Ranch DE Niklas Fisher
- 10 tackles, 7 tackles for loss, 2 sacks, 1 pass deflection
The Cy Ranch roster has a lot of future college football players on it. When I was speaking to the coaching staff down there last Thursday before their game against Waller, they raved about the way Niklas Fisher had been performing. He followed that praise up with a night of havoc as he basically lived in the opposing backfield. It was apparent early on that the Waller offensive line wasn't going to be able to block him consistently. He racked up tackles for loss like he was playing against air. I liked his punch at the line of scrimmage, short-area quickness and relentless pursuit of the football. I'm not sure where he's going to end up at the next level, but someone is going to get themselves a football-playing dude along the defensive line.
