On Friday’s edition of TexAgs Live, Kay Naegeli took us Around Aggieland and provided updates on all things Texas A&M as fall sports continue. Football is on a bye week, volleyball is on a three-game heater and much more.


Football
It is Texas A&M’s first of two bye weeks during the 2024 season, the second week comes Nov. 9. 

Volleyball
Morrison’s Aggies took down Ole Miss in four sets on Wednesday night in Oxford. By winning three straight matches, A&M is now 3-1 in Southeastern Conference play with another road trip on deck for Sunday at LSU.

Basketball
Next week, both Aggie men’s and women’s basketball programs will be heading to the 2024 SEC Tipoff Media Days in Birmingham. 

The men’s program will send Buzz Williams, Hayden Hefner and Andersson Garcia on Tuesday.

In conjunction with its television partners, the SEC announced tip times and TV designations for the Texas A&M men’s basketball team’s 2024-25 season on Thursday.

Under the direction of sixth-year head coach Buzz Williams, the Aggies will be featured prominently on the national stage with nine games on the ESPN family of networks (ESPN, ESPN2 and ESPNU, three on Turner Entertainment (TBS, TNT and MAX) and one on CBS. Additionally, the SEC Network will offer 13 linear broadcasts of Aggie Basketball this season. The four remaining home games will appear on SECN+.

Women’s basketball
The women’s program will send Joni Taylor, Aicha Coulibaly and Lauren Ware on Wednesday for 2024 SEC Tipoff Media Days in Birmingham.

The Texas A&M women’s basketball team was selected for nine nationally televised games during the 2024-25 campaign, the SEC announced Thursday.

ESPNU will carry the Syracuse matchup (Dec. 4) at Reed Arena while ESPN2 will televise the Aggies’ trip to the reigning National Champion South Carolina Gamecocks (Jan. 9). The Maroon & White’s seven remaining linear broadcasts will be featured on SEC Network against Kansas State (Dec. 8), Oklahoma (Jan. 12), Kentucky (Jan. 23), LSU (Jan. 26), Texas (Feb. 2), Missouri (Feb. 9) and Alabama (Feb. 17).

Soccer
Texas A&M suffered a 2-0 loss to Vanderbilt on Thursday night. At 8-6 overall and 3-3 in conference, A&M has just four matches left in the regular season. They will head on the road to face Alabama this Sunday.

Women’s tennis
The tennis team travels this weekend to compete in the ITA Texas Regional Championship at TCU's Friedman Tennis Center for a chance to qualify for the NCAA Individual Championships.

Five Aggies made the trip, including No. 9 Nicole Khirin, No. 88 Jeanette Mireles, Daria Smetannikov, Lizanne Boyer and Lexington Reed. 

Equestrian
The No. 2 Texas A&M equestrian team hits the road for the first time this season as they travel to face No. 9 Delaware State Friday morning at 8 a.m. from the Dovington Training Center.

Softball
Fall ball begins for Trisha Ford and Co., facing Blinn CC on Saturday. That will be a 10-inning affair at 1 p.m.
