Excessive penalties a one-game problem? Aggies hope so

The rash of yellow flags in Texas A&M’s 20-17 loss to Florida shouldn’t necessarily raise red ones.
A propensity for penalties can be alarming and disarming. Indeed, Texas A&M coach Kevin Sumlin acknowledged that Texas A&M’s nine penalties for 78 yards was a major factor in losing to the Gators.
“Against a good team, nine penalties is not going to cut it,” Sumlin said Tuesday at his weekly press conference. “There’s a formula like every 10 yards in penalties equals one point.
