On Friday’s edition of TexAgs Radio, Kay Naegeli took us Around Aggieland and provided updates on all things Texas A&M as soccer kicked off the athletic calendar with a 5-0 shutout of Lamar and more fall sports slowly approach.

General
Texas A&M Director of Athletics Trev Alberts and his staff have received most of the reports concerning the two special events — the June 8 soccer match between Brazil and Mexico and the June 15 George Strait concert — held at Kyle Field this summer.

Trev Alberts said: “The final net revenue to Texas A&M athletics for the two events was a little over $6 million - $2.6 for soccer and $3.9 for George Strait.”

On Thursday night, 25th-ranked Texas A&M dominated Lamar, 5-0. Both Sydney Becerra and Grace Ivey contributed a pair of goals in the shutout win.

The Aggies return to action next Wednesday for their regular season home opener at 7 p.m. against Denver.

36’ – Taylor Jernigan sent a diagonal pass to Becerra, who need just two touches before driving a right-footer from 20 yards inside the right post. A&M 3, LU 0

57’ – Becerra dumped a ball into the penalty box from 40 yards out. With her back to goal, Ivey fought off a defender, spun and drove a left-footer from 15 yards into the lower left corner. A&M 4, LU 0
