Still pissed about changes to the student section. Biggest downside to moving to the SEC. I'm happy about the move, but we should have fought harder to keep that tradition.

When I worked at Auburn students got the worst seats at Jordan-Hare. One of the things I always told my students was that at Texas A&M our students are considered as valuable as the big money guys, and had just as much chance of getting 50 yard line seats on the first deck as getting nosebleed seats. Apparently not anymore.

The 12th Man took a huge hit, and I am saddened that students will never again have the opportunity to get amazing seats during their college years that I had.

Yep, I wonder how hard we fought to protect the 12th Man tradition with the seating. Need those young lungs. Old Army will need to step up.

And once again here's Jason Cook V.P. for Marketing and Communications as he widens his eyes in awe: "We've talked about the SEC move giving us an opportunity to introduce A&M on the national stage."

Texas A&M is no blushing debutante being escorted onto the national stage by the SEC. We are nationally recognized all over the board of academics, military, sports, political, research, culture, history . . . I don't understand why our marketing department chooses to downgrade our position.

Coach,
I wouldnt say they "downgrade" us. However, like Jason said, we are being put in the national media more so now than ever before. We would be foolish not to take this opportunity to showcase what a world class institution and special place this is. The better we can show our selves off to the world, the more interest we will receive from perspective students, athletes and industry officials, and all of those things lead to greater future support of the university which can only better A&M in the future.

I view the moving of some student seating as a non issue. We still have all of 2nd and 3rd deck, plus now all of the south endzone bleachers. We actually added student seats with the change. Not to mention that students still get a lot of 1st deck seats as well.

i don't think it's a big deal to free up those seats. some of the tradishuns are overrated anyways.
