Recruiting never stops in the state of Texas, and the action has been moving right along as the attention fully turns to the 2025 class. Without any further delay, it is time to dive into the latest happenings on the recruiting trails of Texas.

Big Gets

WR Ed Small‍ commits to TCU

Headlines

Daylan McCutcheon‍ top eight – The Lucas Lovejoy standout receiver announced his top eight with a couple of in-state programs making the cut. In-state Texas and SMU lead the way, with SEC programs Florida and Tennessee also involved. Stanford, Ohio State, USC and Florida State also made the cut.

Taz Williams‍ top 10 – A playmaking receiver from Red Oak, Williams has narrowed his long list to a top 10 and the in-state schools are well represented. Texas programs making the cut are Texas A&M, Texas, Baylor and SMU. The SEC is also represented by Alabama, and Ohio State, Michigan, Florida State, Georgia Tech and Penn State round out the list.

New name to know

TE Jeramie Cooper‍, Crowley (TX) North Crowley - 2027

Cooper checks in at 6-foot-3 and 220 pounds, and he is coming off a freshman season that saw him earn first-team all-district honors. After a quick look at the tape, his overall athleticism and dog mentality are quick to catch the eye. He is a dominant blocker and is often seen driving defenders into the dirt or the sideline. He is also an athletic threat in the passing game. He only recorded 11 receptions for 193 yards and one touchdown this fall, but his fluidity allows him to quickly adjust his body and locate the ball, and his physicality and length make him a big target.

Cooper describes his style as driving because he sees himself as a team player willing to do whatever it takes for the team, and he prides himself on a versatile skillset with role models George Kittle and Ja’Marr Chase.

College coaches are already taking notice. Texas Tech was the first to offer, but Nebraska and Baylor have also joined his offer list. Interest has also arrived from Oregon, USC and Utah.
