Five years flew by.

On Monday evening, Texas A&M offensive lineman Layden Robinson announced his decision to declare for the 2024 NFL Draft.

In a post on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, Robinson did not indicate whether or not he would participate in the 2023 TaxAct Texas Bowl.

Coming to Aggieland as a three-star recruit out of Manvel, Texas, Robinson made the most of his five-year career, earning over 30 starts at guard.

Robinson found his way into the starting lineup his sophomore season after Jared Hocker’s decision to go pro in 2020. #64 earned 2021 PFF All-SEC First Team and 2021 AP All-SEC Second Team, blocking for star running back Isaiah Spiller.

During his junior season, Robinson helped clear the way for DeVon Achane to rush for 1,102 yards. He was awarded the Toughness Award and the Strength & Conditioning Offensive Aggie Award at the annual team banquet.

In year five, Robinson stepped up as a leader to help the Aggies bounce back from a 5-7 season. The offensive veteran assisted the Aggie running backs in eclipsing 200-plus yards in the wins over Auburn (209) and Arkansas (204). He was also named to the 2023 SEC Community Service Team.

Additionally, the 6-foot-4, 315-pounder has accepted an invitation to the 2024 Reese’s Senior Bowl.

Robinson joins defensive lineman McKinnley Jackson and receiver Ainias Smith as Aggies who have officially declared for the draft.

The Addazio effect must've been real. Robinson went from a really strong guard prospect that I was excited about to a just OK lineman as he got older. Hopefully he puts some good things on tape at the senior bowl and has a long and fruitful NFL career.
