Texas A&M soccer closes regular season with high-stakes test at LSU

Aggie soccer's regular season comes to a close on Thursday evening with a meeting with the Bayou Bengals. On Wednesday's edition of TexAgs Radio, G Guerrieri and David Ellis previewed the final conference meeting against LSU and what a win could do for postseason implications. 

Key notes from G Guerrieri interview

• The game on Sunday was a pressure game for our players. They need to win to strengthen their resume for an NCAA bid. We spotted them again in the first five minutes and came from behind to take the lead. We gave up two goals, then tied it and took the lead back.
   
• A huge road win is never easy. That's a big boost in RPI. That's three top-25 road wins. In the SEC race, we are locked in the SEC Tournament, and if we win tomorrow, we will get a share of the SEC West championship. All to play for. Post-season is something we are excited about.
   
• It's similar to the way the SEC does baseball. If you have a divisional championship, there has to be a reward or consequence. They do it by seeding in the SEC Tournament. Our game against Tennessee does not go into play for the Western race, but it does for overall. We have 14 points total and 10 points in the West.
   
• We win tomorrow, we in the West. If we don’t, we could fall as far as eighth, which means we could play on Sunday in the SEC Tournament. We win, and we could play on Tuesday. There is everything to play for. The NCAA Tournament starts right after. It adds up.
   
• LSU needs a result to ensure they will get into the SEC Tournament. Tomorrow night matters. This is the marquee game on SEC Network.
   
• We have an elite roster. We have to be picky about who we bring in. Jazmine Wilkinson was someone we thought could help out. Sammy Smith has been great. Culturally, they have fit in perfectly. 
   
• You can't get clouded in the benefits. It's the process of what you have to do. Jazmine scored the tying goal because she fought like hell surrounded by five Volunteers. Going on the road, you have to do your job and more.
