Thanks Coach. We took our daughter and her friends down to Reed on Sunday for her Birthday. It was awesome. Great environment, amazing play and meeting the players post game was a highlight for the girls. Keep Cookin'

Development is still Morrison's main focus amid four-game streak
Riding a four-game winning streak, Texas A&M volleyball head coach Jamie Morrison joined Tuesday's edition of TexAgs Radio to chat about the Aggies recent run before previewing this week's matches in College Station against No. 17 Florida on Friday and Georgia on Sunday.
Key notes from Jamie Morrison interview
- I feel good. We're taking it one at a time. I was doing some media stuff yesterday, and we're finding different ways to win in every single game. We can block. We're excited about what's coming, and I think we've got a good test coming in the second half of the SEC season.
- Our crowds are growing every single game. I was doing a podcast with Joni Taylor yesterday, and we were talking about how special this place is and how special the 12th Man is. Thank you for embracing us and for embracing me. We want you to come out and watch.
- The team is focused on the next practice. Our practice will not be geared toward beating Florida on Friday. It will be geared toward making us the best volleyball team we can be. It's not about Florida. It's about developing us. It will be fundamentals today and dialing in the way we pass. Until we get to 80 percent on this, we won't move on to the next change. It's a lot of the same athletes that were here last year, but they're different. They put in a lot of change and work in the offseason.
- The way we practice is different in that we want to add variability in what we're doing. We try to make it so that the brain is having to work every day. The other piece is I tell the players to "Be You." When you go out against Florida, they can't fake it. Go be yourself when we compete. Go play the game the way you play it.
- How do you define mastery? A snowboarder said it's mastering the fundamentals of your craft so you can express who you are in what you do. Everyone can pull a trick, but everyone has their own flare. They all have the fundamentals but add their own flair. You have to master the fundamentals but go express yourself. When it comes to systems, there is an us that has to happen. We have to have a culture to Texas A&M volleyball and a system to what we're going to run. Our blockers all fit our blocking system, but they all do it differently.
- For me, athletics is about the integration of how our mind works and how our body works.
- "Be You Through Us." We talk about being optimistic problem solvers. There are some people who want to be optimists. When we've gotten down lately, it hasn't fallen apart. We find a way to do it. It might be Lauren Hogan serving. It might be three stuffs in a row. We've done a good job of not panicking in those moments.
- Sports are a big deal, and they're entertaining. We get thousands of people at our matches, and we talk about putting on a show for those people. Still, as coaches, we talk about preparing young people for life through sport. It's our job as coaches to make sure these young people leave our program ready for the next 60 years of life.
- The biggest thing I want to see is us being a better version of ourselves than the last time we played Flordia. Win or lose, that's what we're looking for. One of the hardest things as a coach is getting the feedback. I have to take a step back and realize if we're playing better than we played them last time. I want to see speed and optimistic problem solvers. If we do all those things, I'll be happy, win or lose.
