Press Conference: Fisher, Ags gearing up for meeting with No. 11 Tide

Kyle Field will host a Southeastern Conference showdown on Saturday afternoon as the Fightin' Texas Aggies square off with No. 11 Alabama. On Monday, Jimbo Fisher, Dametrious Crownover, McKinnley Jackson, Max Wright and Ainias Smith spoke to the media.

The following are live, paraphrased notes from Jimbo Fisher’s Monday afternoon media availability:

• Proud of our team. We are not perfect. I liked the demeanor and physicality of our team. We have a long way to go. We did a good job of containing KJ Jefferson. We did a great job in the red zone early in the game. There are things we can get cleaned up. We responded well. The punt returns by Ainias Smith was huge. We missed a couple of field goals. They were long ones. Le’Veon Moss and Amari Daniels ran well. Moss got hot. Evan Stewart got kicked up and made plays. Getting Noah Thomas back was huge for us. Our O-line did a great of of protecting us. It was a good, balanced win.
   
• Defensively, Alabama is outstanding right now. The secondary is really experienced. Offensively, big and physical. Starts up front. They ran the football last week. They have excellent backs. Tight end does a great job. They are throwing the ball down the field.
   
• Jalen Milroe can throw, and he is strong as heck. He is as good of an athlete as anyone on the team. They are a complete football team. We have to play better than we are playing. We need to worry about us. Coach Nick Saban is a great coach, and they prepare well. 
   
• Milroe is as fast as anybody on their team. This guy puts balls in the end zone. He does a great job putting balls down field. He can make you miss.
   
• Love what Moss is doing. It’s fun to watch him emerge. He had a hot hand, so we kept giving it to him. He caught balls out of the backfield and picked up blitz protection.
   
• Alabama is Alabama. Each game is each game. I get why everyone says it, but as a player, you prepare like it’s any other team.
   
• You see Milroe checking down. He hurt us last year with some huge runs. He is breaking out of the pocket, but he is tucking the ball. He knows he doesn't always have to run. He is more comfortable playing compared to last year. 
   
• All you can control is yourself. You can go through the motions, but you have to carry. You have to buy in.
   
• Coaching against Nick Saban is hard. They give you nothing. A lot of plays are made because the other team made a mistake. With Alabama, you don't see that. You have to do things right. 
   
• You always want to be confident. We have won two SEC games. When you have success, you get confident. Our players believe in themselves.
   
• The Crownover family is a phenomenal family. You have two guys there that don’t complain. Earnest Crownover is being used more and has two touchdowns. Dametrious Crownover came in as a tight end, and I thought he could play tackle. He will be a heck of a football player before he leaves Texas A&M. He will play on Sundays for a long time.
   
• I don't ever make guys switch positions. You want to give them the best opportunity. It means they have trust in us. 
   
• You always looking to have pressure. I will ask the defensive coordinator, how are you affecting the quarterback? There are a lot of ways to do that. You have to evaluate our front vs. theirs. I will always push coordinators to do that. 
   
• All quarterbacks have started to slide. I think guys are less vulnerable when they go headfirst. You dive down and protect the ball. Max Johnson has to be smart. 
   
• Evan Stewart came back into the game. He should be good to go.
   
• The support here is second to none. Our 12th Man is unbelievable. I noticed the people camping out, and we always send food. I thought it would be good to go out there and thank them.
   
• It's amazing how a guy can focus and block the noise out. There is no better place to play a football game than in Kyle Field.
   
• Some of Alabama’s sacks are when Milroe is running. Some of that can be misleading.
   
• Arkansas DL John Morgan is back and healthy. That’s awesome.
