Texas A&M and Jimbo Fisher went West for the newest piece of Texas A&M’s 2024 recruiting class, striking big at one of the nation’s premiere high school football programs as Bellflower (CA) St. John Bosco All-American linebacker Jordan Lockhart‍ announced his Texas A&M commitment.

The 6-foot-3, 230-pound standout plays a fast, physical brand of ball. Lockhart is quick to take on blocks, find the ball, and when he arrives, he finishes with authority. He plays the game with a high IQ, and his instincts, IQ and overall athleticism allow him to quickly diagnose plays and disrupt opposing offenses.

Not only has Lockhart performed at a high level, but he has shown himself against some of the nation’s toughest competition as a member of one of the nation’s perennial powerhouse programs.

His Texas A&M decision comes on the heels of his official visit to College Station, where he was joined by his brother and father.

Defensive coordinator D.J. Durkin played a key role in Texas A&M’s recruiting efforts. Lockhart’s relationship with coach Durkin goes to Durkin’s Ole Miss days, where Durkin extended an offer to Lockhart before he ever played a high school down.

Lockhart becomes the ninth member of Texas A&M’s 2024 recruiting class, and he joins linebacker Tristan Jernigan‍ of Tupelo (MS) as linebackers in the class.

In addition to Texas A&M, Lockhart — who was previously committed to Ole Miss before re-opening his process in the spring — also held offers from Alabama, Arizona, Boston College, Louisville, Maryland, Michigan, Oklahoma, Oregon State, SMU, Tennessee, UNLV, USC and Utah.
