Am I the only one who has just quit listening to these altogether?

Every press conference last year was a carbon copy of the one before it.

He's either the dude or not the dude. This is his audition year.

his hat was on crooked. not jaunty. and he spoke more rapidly than ever before. very nervous. very defensive on issues ranging from motion on offense to # of scholarship players. didn't have his notes together so he stumbled around trying to remember names.

his performance at the press conference was thus, overall, a failure. he is not used to the media glare and the criticism. used to playing in the ACC and it's a BIG difference in the SEC.

he has never been on the hot seat before but he is firmly planted there this season. and will be until he makes up for last season with 9 or 10 wins. what a difference winning will make.

He was on the hot seat his last year at Florida State, for pretty much all the same reasons.

the reasons being: no offense, poor recruiting? my impression is that he has always been an elite recruiter but last season snd this one seem to contradict that.

i'm still rooting for him to pull out of this tailspin and get back to the level of winning we expected.

He had recruiting issues at the end of Florida state, one commonality was the QB position, freshman QB got hurt and didn't anyone close to his talent backing him up.

He can be an elite recruiter, but that doesn't mean anything if he isn't an elite developer and or has poor retention. All the talent/potential in the world is worthless if you can't develop it or it walks out the door

Specifically, poor recruiting and development of O lineman.
Slow, plodding offense that was easy for opponents to predict.
Stubborn refusal to own any of it, with the exception of rote coach speak.

Recently spoke to a couple of long time Fla. State season ticket holders and they talked about how watching us this past season was like having flashbacks.
