On Friday’s edition of TexAgs Radio, Kay Naegeli took us Around Aggieland and provided updates on all things Texas A&M Athletics as Sam Bennett competes at The Masters, baseball looks to secure road series win over Auburn and softball hosts Mississippi State.

Baseball (19-11, 4-6 in SEC)
Texas A&M won its midweek contest this week with Texas State, 10-9, before winning Game 1 of the weekend series at Auburn on Thursday. 

• Hunter Haas launched a two-run home run in the fourth inning, giving the Aggies a 7-5 lead. 
• Jordan Thompson hit a two-run shot over the left-center wall in the fifth inning. 
• Chris Cortez (S, 1); 1.2 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 2 K

• Trevor Werner hit a three-run home run in the seventh inning to give A&M an 8-5 lead.
• Nathan Dettmer recorded a career-high 11 strikeouts. 
• Evan Aschebeck (4-0); W, 3.1 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 4 K

The Aggies will have a double-header on Friday as the Aggies look to take a conference road series.

• Friday: 45 minutes following Game 1, SEC Network+

Softball (22-13, 5-7 in SEC)
No. 19 A&M will host Mississippi State this weekend at Davis Diamond for a three-game set starting on Saturday. 

• Saturday: 7 p.m. CT
• Sunday: 2 p.m. CT
• Monday: 6 p.m. CT

All games will be shown on the SEC Network. 

Men’s Golf 
Fifth-year senior Sam Bennett, opened his run at the 2023 Masters in Augusta, scoring 4-under par and finishing Day 1 tied for sixth. Bennett’s score is the lowest from an Amatuer at The Masters since 2001 and his score on the front nine tied for the lowest of all time from an Amatuer at The Masters.

Bennett will tee off at 9:00 a.m. CT on Friday in Day 2 of The Masters. Sam already birdied on his first hole this morning and is now five under.

Women’s Golf
No. 6 Texas A&M claimed runner-ups this week at the Silverado Showdown in Napa, California. The Aggies finished 16-over par, seven strokes off the winner Northwestern. Hailee Cooper led the Aggies, shooting 2-under par for the tournament. 

Men’s Tennis (13-8, 5-3 in SEC)
The Aggies hit the road this weekend for a pair of conference matches as they take on Vanderbilt and Ole Miss.

• Sunday: @ Ole Miss - 1 p.m. CT

Women’s Tennis (21-1, 9-0 in SEC)
No. 2 Texas A&M will play host this weekend to the Mississippi schools as they take on Ole Miss and Mississippi State at the Mitchell Tennis Center. These will be the final home matches of the regular season. 

• Friday: vs. Ole Miss - 5 p.m. CT
• Sunday: vs Mississippi State - 12 p.m. CT

Track and Field
The Maroon & White will be in Los Angeles this weekend as they will be competing in the Trojan Invitational. A&M will start competition on Friday at 2 p.m. CT when the men’s discus event begins. Saturday’s portion of the meet will be live-streamed on this link: USC Live Stream-2 | Pac-12

Aggie Dance Team
The Aggie Dance Team is competing at The College Classic for the Dance Team Union National Championship in Orlando. They will be competing today and tomorrow and are going for a three-peat, as they won a National Championship in 2021 and 2022.
