Press Conference: Jimbo Fisher shares latest from A&M's Fall Camp

Texas A&M has practiced 17 times during Fall Camp as the Aggies' season-opener with Sam Houston at Kyle Field is quickly approaching. On Wednesday afternoon, Aggie head coach Jimbo Fisher spoke to the media to discuss the latest regarding his team.

The following are live, paraphrased notes from Jimbo Fisher’s Wednesday afternoon media availability:

• Camp is over. School started. They are on a new schedule. We have an off day today.
   
• A lot of young players are progressing and playing with confidence. The young defensive line played faster than they did in the first scrimmage. I was looking forward to seeing how fast they could develop. We’ve been grinding and pushing them. Rotations have grown. You can rest the older guys. It was a very good camp, and there are a lot of position battles still battling. All three quarterbacks have played well and worked in a lot of situations. I’m very pleased to see how they have grown. We have a very good opponent coming. Sam Houston hasn’t lost one game in two years.
   
• No, I don't know who my starting quarterback is. We’ll announce when I’m ready.
   
• The guest speakers are giving a message of why they are successful. We learn things as coaches all the time. It's great to hear multiple voices with different backgrounds and how they have faced the challenges in their life. That’s a resource to help them grow as people and athletes. It’s not just about ball.
   
• You learn what each quarterback does well. It’s whoever plays the best. It’s whoever we think gives us the chance to be successful. This is not the latest I have not named. Changing quarterbacks midseason is not the plan. You feel confident in the group of guys we have.
   
• Jimbo said he has alternated QBs before at LSU.
   
• Consistency and who gives the team the best chance to win are the determining factors in determining the starting quarterback. Matthew Wykoff and Bryce Foster have both played well and I'm comfortable with both guys.
