Key notes from Olin’s thoughts on Zuhn
- We’ve heard Billy Liucci say it, so believe it: Trey Zuhn would’ve ended the season as a starter if wasn’t injured. He came here as a high four-star recruit, and Jimbo Fisher has raved about him. He’s probably going to be a starter. He’s healthy now.
- The coaches like what they see. Being a starting left tackle for a team that runs the ball well, he needs to be the No. 22 player. If he’s 22 or better, that will ease minds looking at a position of concern.
- I think he’ll be better than Jahmir Johnson, but that’s not to discredit Johnson. Zuhn’s best is better than Jahmir Johnson’s at Texas A&M. The left tackle position has upgraded.
- The coaches are going to hype up guys, but when Jimbo does it, it’s usually true. They feel good about Trey Zuhn. I don’t think he has to be great, but he has to be better than the position last year.
- You have to be SEC big and strong, and Zuhn has had a full year to do that. There’s every reason to be optimistic. Your starting left tackle should be one of the best 22 players on the team.
- Trey Zuhn really has not played due to injury. There’s every reason to believe this guy will be a solid starting left tackle.
