QB Haynes King: The redshirt freshman from Longview had an up-and-down first start in last week’s 41-10 victory over Kent State. King passed for 292 yards and two touchdowns. He also rushed for 22 yards, including an exciting 14-yard scramble for a first down on third-and-10. He converted six of seven passes on third down for first downs or touchdowns. That was the good news. The bad news was he threw three interceptions in Kent State’s end of the field.
