Key notes from Pat Henry interview

• We're in Fayetteville now, and we're on the bus coming back from COVID testing. It took us two hours to go through it. It's pretty tough on the athletes, and it's a tough deal right now. There has to be a better way to do this, but I just don't know right now.
   
• We just tested 28 or 29 of us, and it was a rapid test. Everything came back negative, but we have to do it again on Friday. It never stops, and we've already tested twice this week at home.
   
• We're in a good position, especially on the ladies' side. Our team has qualified well. We have some people that are in the top-scoring position on both sides, but more so on the ladies' side. A championship is not predictable, but you just have to go into the competition feeling like you're in the mix. We certainly do feel like we’re right there. It's just about everyone having a good day on the same day. This group has a good attitude about what we're fixing to do. When you're at the championships, it's about stepping up. We're ready to do so.
   
• Tyra Gittens is very important, and she has a lot of big tasks in front of her. The multi-event is big, but then she'll be doing the long jump and the high jump. She's a tough young lady.
   
• The SEC competition is very similar to the NCAA Championship because the SEC is so good. The level of competition just increases just a little bit.
   
• The national title always comes down to the last race. If it does again this year, then I hope it does because I think we'll be prepared with our 4x400m team.
   
• On the men's side, we were probably hurt by COVID and a couple of injuries a little more this season than anticipated. I hope we go into the outdoor season strong, and I think we will. We will add a couple of people to the roster, and we're adding some of our stronger events as well. We're hoping to be a better outdoor team than an indoor.
