* The kids are rusty to start the year and the conditioning and chemistry is improving. The defensive effort and on-court maturity is getting better and better as the young season progresses.
* Kelsey Bone wants to please the coaching staff and she gets really focused on the task when you challenge her. There are lots of expectations upon her and she is starting to relax and play like herself. You're seeing the true Kelsey Bone and she still has a long way to go.
* You can't play point guard without confidence and Adrienne Pratcher needed to get in the film room [during the off-season], get into the gym and knock down shots to get that confidence back. You have to have confidence so that the other four players on the court will also have that confidence in you. She is pretty confident and relaxed right now. When you struggle in practice, it often carries over into the game. And she's practicing better now. She and Alexia Standish are competitive and they both want that spot. They're pushing each other but they really lean on each other and work together to make us the best that we can be at that position.
* The Bahamas trip is a business trip and we get to face two pretty good teams with different styles. We will have some fun while we're out there, but when it's time to focus, our kids are professionals at changing gears and focusing on the task at hand.
* The loss to Coach Budke and Coach Serna is a horrible tragedy. We knew them really well and a lot of prayers are going out to the OSU family. It's just unbelievable. One program should not have to deal with this twice within a ten-year period. You never understand why it happens and we're not here to question it. We're just here to pray for their loved ones.
