Texas A&M Football Recruiting
Recruiting Country: The latest recruiting news surrounding the Maroon & White
Key notes from Recruiting Country
- To me, when I look at Dreyden Norwood's film, he is very similar to Tyreek Chappell. Both guys have a ton of speed and the ability to play the cornerback position. That's three of four commits at the corner position, with all top-flight guys. I think that's an impressive way to address a position of need. I think MJ Daniels may be the next guy they go after, and he brings something different than the other three with his length.
- I think you could add a fourth corner in this class. That roster group could need a good influx of people following the 2020 season, so maybe that fourth is a junior college guy. That is definitely something to watch and see how it plays out.
- This impressive out-of-state recruiting is almost becoming the new normal from Jimbo Fisher. He identifies people he wants and goes and gets them. That's back-to-back seasons where they went and got the top player in the state of Arkansas. I think there is nothing wrong with going out of state and taking the best players available. Then in-state, they are keeping the status quo and getting the top guys they want.
- At this point, if the current protocols are in place, I don't know how you have a high school football season. Now, with Fort Bend ISD making this announcement, along with a few other districts, Fort Bend carries a lot of weight in the greater-Houston area.
- My confidence level of a high school football season happening is at a five, and I think that's being very optimistic.
- John Paul Richardson is going to be a great player for the Oklahoma State Cowboys. He is a playmaker and always seems to make things happen with the ball in his hands.
- I don't know how much the records will impact recruiting if the season is different. This is unprecedented. If you don't get kids on campus, and all they see is the W-L, then yes, the record is a huge piece of the puzzle. I think a big key is getting kids on campus.
