Kelsey Bone: Star of the game in win over Mississippi State
Texas A&M's much anticipated newcomer, Kelsey Bone, has wasted no time in making her presence felt for No. 6 Texas A&M. She posted 20 points and 13 rebounds in a 93-47 Aggie win over Mississippi State.
Stats: 20 points, 13 rebounds (6 offensive), 2 steals, 1 turnover, 9-15 FG, 2-3 FT
Scoop: With the weight of the world on her shoulders as she tries to to take the reins from A&M's all-time greatest player in Danielle Adams, Kelsey Bone has busted out of the gates and begun her Aggie career in absolutely dominant fashion. The sophomore post player is certainly one of the primary keys to A&M's hopes of getting back to the Final Four and attempt to repeat as national champions, and she could not be approaching this responsibility any better than she has thus far. And in a spotlight game against Mississippi State, Kelsey picked a great time to have an "A-Game." Since her six-turnover contest in the season opener vs. Lamar, Bone has committed just one turnover in the ensuing three games. And in this one, she did not even commit a personal foul ... something that has served as kryptonite at times in her career. Bone could have scored 30 in this one, but was very productive and continues to get better and better as the young season rolls along.
Other Notables:
* Tyra White: 11 points, 7 rebounds
* Adrienne Pratcher: 11 points, 5 assists
* Karla Gilbert: 12 points, 7 rebounds
