• Another game with mixed results for Mike Elko's unit, but for the second straight week, I'll call the defensive performance a solid one. A winning effort. Last week, I felt the Ags' effort qualified as a good one because, at the end of the day, they allowed 17 points (and two total TDs) and scored one of their own. This week, the Aggies gave up too many yards (433) and points (30) but the defense forced three turnovers when the game was even remotely in doubt, and State added a pair of relatively meaningless fourth-quarter touchdowns when trailing 25 points each time.
