Cover Story: Back-to-back SEC wins could key a strong November for Aggies

Plot twist: Texas A&M's season turns around with back-to-back wins over 'the Mississippi schools.'

As had been well-documented prior to Jimbo Fisher's arrival, a big part of the last regime never being able to ascend the SEC West ladder was regularly dropping games to Mississippi State and Ole Miss. The drumbeat resumed last year at about this time when Fisher's Aggies traveled to Starkville and were sent home with a 28-13 loss. I'd call it a small hurdle to clear for Fisher and the Aggies en route to championship contention, but both programs have been a significant roadblock for the Maroon & White since Johnny Manziel led A&M to a 4-0 record against the West rivals during the Ags' first two seasons in their new conference.
