Key notes from Ronnie Brown interview

  • I’m excited to be at Kyle Field this weekend. It will be my fourth season working radio for Auburn. College Station is an awesome place to play with a first-class experience and fans.

  • We’re a few games in now, so our freshman quarterback, Bo Nix, has a couple of wins under his belt. The team is getting more comfortable in preparation and routines. Oregon was a great challenge, and now with road and home game experience, it’s time to settle in as a team.

  • What I like most about this team is the will to find a way to win. That’s what’s exciting about sports; even when you’re not playing your best, you can win. Take all that in and continue to overcome adversity. There’s still a long way to go for this team to get where they want to be, but they will work hard and continue to grow.

  • It’s crucial to establish the line of scrimmage; if you win the battle of the trenches, you have a better opportunity to win the game. Auburn is historically a running team, so the main approach this game will be attempting to get the running game going and find consistency. If that happens, it’ll be a tough game for A&M, who takes pride in stopping the run game. Winning that battle opens everything up and takes the pressure off the quarterback. If I’m Bo Nix, I’m expecting pressure, which is all the more reason to get the running game going.

  • Auburn’s defensive line is the best I’ve seen since 2010. There was an excellent defensive line two years ago, but the key to success is the ability to replace guys year after year. The linebackers have done a great job. KJ Britt’s athleticism has stood out to me. I also see the potential of freshmen; it’s a tenacious group.

  • My favorite thing about playing football at Auburn was the relationships I made. The team bonded outside of football. Friday nights before games, we hung out and would pray for each other and our families. It was special to be a part of.
