Notes from Olin’s thoughts on Clemons

• Micheal is like buying a car sight unseen. You keep hearing about how good it is and it may be. Until you drive it, you just don’t know. That’s what we’re trying to find out.
   
• When your teammates come out and talk about how good you are. When you’re coaches talk about how good you look. It looks good for Micheal. We just haven’t seen it. Carson Green has said that you can’t block Clemons. Madubuike has as also raved about Micheal Clemons. You have to think this guy is going to come out and be a dominant defensive player.
   
• Outside of College Station, you don’t know about Micheal Clemons. If you’re in Tuscaloosa or Athens, you have no idea who Micheal Clemons is.
   
• If Micheal Clemons becomes that breakout guy, and he could, then it changes everything about A&M. He could provide an explosive pass rush this year. He has the ability to provide that, and we’re projecting that he’s going to do it. Clemons is the reason I think Texas A&M will be better defensively in 2019 than in 2018.
   
• They call him ‘Cyclops.’ Hopefully, he can go out there and be the monster that they say he is. It’s to the point now where all of the indicators are there. Everything says that he’s on the brink of a breakout season. All that’s left is seeing him doing it or not.
   
• When Carson Green says that a guy is gigantic, then that guy is gigantic. Carson Green is pretty big himself.
   
• I think Clemons is going to have an eight-sack year. Or more. With A&M’s inside rush, the size of the guy and the burst that he has, if he doesn’t have an eight-sack year then it’ll be a bust.
   
• You worry a little bit about the foot. If he doesn’t stay healthy, then he’s not going to get those eight sacks. If he is healthy, he’s going to be a big guy on a good defensive line that’s going to draw some attention. Combined with Carson Green saying he’s unblockable, that tells me Micheal Clemons is going to have a breakout year.
