Notes from Billy's breakdown on Wydermyer

  • If you go back and look at Baylor Cupp's recruitment, it was good that they got Cupp, but they still needed to get Wydermyer. One, they needed a second tight end. Two, Wydermyer is an absolute stud.
  • If you had to pick the two most underrated guys in the 2019 class, it's Ainias Smith‍ and Jalen Wdyermyer. You can look at his film and his offer list. It had you wondering why Wydermyer is a three-star recruit.
  • He bodies up defenders. He's a big-bodied pass catcher. If you watch him on tape from high school, he really stands out.
  • From everything I've heard this summer, he's busting it in the weight room, and all of the older dudes are already buzzing about him.
  • He's a guy who could have an impact on this offense. Joe Jon Finley is going to have a lot of options with these three tight ends. I think Wydermyer will be an impact guy this season. Between the two freshmen and Glenn Beal, the tight ends are going to be making some big catches this season.
