A&M volleyball sweeps Auburn in impressive 3-0 win
Friday night, Texas A&M volleyball returned to Reed Arena to play in front of the 12th Man for the first time since September 23. The Aggies took advantage of the home court and swept Auburn in three straight sets, 25-19, 25-17, and 25-21.
Texas A&M outplayed Auburn in every way: the Aggies had fewer errors, 15 more kills, 10 more digs, and 7 more assists.
Junior outside hitter Hollann Hans was named SEC player of the week for the second time this season, and she followed up by leading the team in kills with 18 and adding 3 blocks. Hans leads both the SEC and the nation with 5.14 points per set. She closed out Friday's match with 19 points total.
From the middle perspective, Makena Patterson put up nine kills and two blocks, finishng with a .643 hitting percentage due to no errors. Freshman London Austin-Roark, who has started in all 17 matches, had 8 kills and 9 blocks.
Libero Amy Houser recorded 14 digs and 4 assists for the match, and sophomore setter Camille Conner also put up 34 assists, 7 kills, and 2 digs, taking home a .583 hitting percentage.
The Aggies will play their seventh conference match against Georgia in Athens on Sunday, October 14 at 1 p.m. They will be back in Reed Arena for their Dig Pink match against Tennessee on Friday, October 19 at 6:30 p.m.
