Notes from Billy's breakdown on Mack

• Daylon is in a new system now, so I don't necessarily want to look at his previous stats. What I care about is what I'm hearing and seeing, and that is he's having a great summer and he had a great spring. Now, you see him on the field and he looks a lot better physically and he's consistently taking first team reps. I think he's poised to have his best season at Texas A&M in his senior season.

• I think people forget when these five-star guys don't just absolutely take over games from day one as a freshman, but that doesn't mean he's not a good player. You saw that with a guy like Anthony Hines last year. He made thos big five-star plays, but he wasn't that on an everydown basis yet. I think Daylon has all the tools, he just lacks the length. However, he can make up for that with his strength and quickness.

• I think if Jimbo Fisher is talking about a guy, it's for a reason. I do think that people need to cool out on the list of guys that Jimbo mentions post-practice, that's just a few things that pop into his mind off the cuff after practice. Daylon however is a guy that he has consistently mentioned since spring practice. I think Daylon needs to go out there and play like it's his last year, because this is it.

• I think back to a guy like Christian Rodriguez back in my day. We called him the "one-hit wonder" for his hit on Chris Weinke but never really did anything else until his senior year. A lot of that had to do with the fact that a guy like Jason Glenn was ahead of him. Then he got his shot as a senior and had a hell of a year. I think you could see a lot of comparisons between him and Daylon in how their first years on campus went.
