Notes from Olin's thoughts on Clemons

• I know they used to call him cyclops, but they need him to step in and show that he is a capable SEC defensive end. He is one of those guys at a position where you dont really know what they have. He was a high school running back, so hopefully he turns into a guy like Jerry Hughes at TCU. He is a guy who looks physically made up the way a big-time football player should be. He just needs the productuion to match the appearance.

• He won most improved this spring, which shows he's making strides, he just needs to turn that into results on the field. I'm never going to get too excited from what I hear coming out of the spring; I'll wait until I see it on the field. But with everything this guy has going for himself, I really feel like he's going show something this year.

• I think he's more athletic than a guy like Julien Obioha, so I think he will be a little bit better. As long as he's serviceable and not just a glaring hole on the side of the defense, he'll have a successful season. Elko has a reputation of subbing guys in on defense a little more than A&M has seen in the past, so I think Clemons and Bobby Brown will both play.

• I think the talent and athleticism is there, and I would expect more from him this season than we saw from Jarrett Johnson last season.
