Aggies land pledge from Converse Judson DT DeMarvin Leal
Jimbo Fisher and company have reeled in a big one today as the state’s top defensive lineman, DeMarvin Leal of Converse Judson, has committed to Texas A&M. With the pledge, the Aggies win one of the more high-profile head-to-head battles with Texas in this recruiting cycle.
Leal also boasts offers from LSU, Oklahoma, Alabama and Clemson, among many others. The 6-4, 275-pounder comes in at number 5 overall in our 2019 TexAgs rankings. He’s the Aggies' 10th overall commit and the third on the defensive line, joining Josh Ellison and Braedon Mowry.
Leal possesses a rare blend of elite size and athleticism that fits perfectly in Mike Elko’s multiple-look defense. Terry Price and Elijah Robinson deserve a ton of credit in landing Leal. You can view his junior season highlights here.
