Coveted 2018 Cy-Springs safety Leon O'Neal commits to Texas A&M

Cypress Springs safety Leon O’Neal has rejoined the 2018 Texas A&M recruiting class. After backing away from his pledge when Kevin Sumlin was let go, Leon announced his decision via a video posted on Twitter.

Since Jimbo Fisher’s arrival, O’Neal has been a top priority for the Aggie staff. The Aggies had to scratch and claw but ultimately landed the 6-2, 195-pounder over Clemson, Georgia, Oklahoma and Alabama.

O’Neal joins Yoakum’s Jordan Moore and Manvel’s Brian Johnson as part of Mike Elko’s defensive back haul in 2018. Leon is ranked as the number No. 10 player in the state in our TexAgs rankings.

Earth shaking news for Aggieland!!! So excited and impressed. Heck of a cool video. Leon has the opportunity to do some very special things both on, and off, the field as an Aggie. Can't wait to see his impact with God's grace.

Does anyone know the whole story with what appears to be an attempted car theft? Seems like he is really up front about it by including it in his commitment video. Seems like a good kid. SOOOOOO glad he's joining the Good Guys!.

I'm old...my excuse for not getting video.

Is that him in video? He is telling us he was a thief 3 years ago? He is still a thief it is just 3 years later? ATM just stole him from other schools recruiting him?
