Texas A&M lands signature from John Curtis (La.) TE Glenn Beal
It was hard for Texas A&M head coach Jimbo Fisher to hide his smille when River Ridge (La.) John Curtis tight end Glenn Beal made his Signing Day announcement in favor of the Aggies.
When Jimbo Fisher arrived at Texas A&M, tight end was one of the first positions he wanted to address. One of the first targets tight ends coach Tim Brewster turned to was Beal, and just after the dead period ended in January, Beal took his official visit to Texas A&M.
The Aggies quickly became one of his top choices, but there was plenty of competition. As Signing Day approached his destination was still a mystery with finalists Alabama, Florida, LSU, Ole Miss and Texas A&M all vying for his verbal pledge.
With the announcement from the 6-foot-5, 255-pound standout, the Aggies get a big win over several SEC rivals, build their 2018 recruiting class and add much-needed depth at the tight end position.
As a senior at John Curtis, Beal recorded 14 receptions for 259 yards and 2 touchdowns and earned first-team all-district honors. You can view his highlights below:
