Roy May, Hunter Shurtleff and Bill Wise joined Thursday's edition of TexAgs Radio for The Fan Show to discuss A&M's win over Arkansas, facing South Carolina and more. Clay Travis of outkickthecoverage.com joined at the bottom of the hour to give his thoughts on the SEC.

Notes from Clay Travis interview

• We’re trying to figure out if we can handle the income loss if I ran for senator. If I ran for senator I think I would win as an independent in the state of Tennessee. We’ll see who’s on the ballot and running and make a decision some time after the first of the year. I've actually got campaign finance lawyers doing the research on what I need to know.
   
• I’m driven insane by the far left and the far right in this country. I think we need voices of sanity. Somehow I’ve managed to be, despite what I do for a living, the most reasonable person in America. We need more reasonable people.
   
• We have an Outkick group around trying to capture the essence of the tailgating lifestyle. They’ve been all over the place and are now headed to Aggieland. The crew will be walking around with Outkick banners and Outkick related gear at the A&M/South Carolina game on Saturday.
   
• It’s seems like since the Tennessee game last year, that’s when everything fell apart for John Chavis and the A&M defense. They gave up 600 yards of offense and it’s been downhill since then. Chavis was great defensively at Tennessee and at LSU. I don’t know if the talent is substantially worse on A&M’s defense than what he had or what but you used to be able to rely on him to field a consistently high performing defense.
   
• If you're A&M, the win over South Carolina gets you to 4-1. Then you’ll lose to Alabama like everyone will. That’s 4-2. There are a few games as you move down the stretch that will determine if Kevin Sumlin is back or not. He needs to get to nine wins.
   
• LSU hasn’t looked good so far this year. Mississippi State should be a little bit better and Ole Miss should be an easy win for A&M. Running down the list, Sumlin has a chance to get to 9-3 and impress people with the youth movement.
   
• Sumlin's fate depends on how those games look. Will A&M get whipped like they did a few years ago at Alabama or will it be a game that is somewhat competitive? Those are the questions hanging out there as well as, what are the results? How close do they look to competing on a high level?
   
• Personally, I think that Butch Jones and Bret Bielema should be on a much hotter seat than Kevin Sumlin. Butch Jones has a big game this weekend against Georgia, and I don’t know how Arkansas can justify bringing back Bret Bielema with his record.
   
• Jim McElwain is a bad cultural fit so far at Florida. Gator fans got use to being able to run up and down the field, an exciting brand of football. They’ve won the East the past two years but looking at their overall performance, they should be 0-3 so far this year. I don’t think Florida is very talented.
   
• A&M will be 4-2 when they head to The Swamp, and they are every bit as good as Florida. It’s going to be a toss up game. It wouldn’t shock me at all if Florida goes 5-4 in its last nine games or 4-4 in the last eight. I really think Florida is going to play a lot of toss up games this year.
   
• The big question in the next wave of conference realignment will be, what's the value of the Big 12 going forward? The Big 12 goes to the market again around 2024, what is the value going to look like at that point in time? By 2024, I think that ESPN is going to be severly economically constrained and we'll see what situation Fox finds itself in. Is there going to be a lot of money out there? Are we going to move from TV to Amazon and Facebook and that universe buying all the rights? I think by that point you're going to have a bunch of apps owned by conferences that you'll subscribe to individually and you'll just have to buy the games yourself.
