Notes from Billy's thoughts on Keke
- I think it's time for Kingsley Keke to add things like consistency to his arsenal. He’s not inconsistent, but every Saturday you need to know exactly what you’ll get from him. You noticed him in his freshman year. During his sophomore year, you thought he could have a career in the NFL and that he could be special. I don’t think he’s a first round draft pick right now, but we could be saying that after this season. He’s on the verge of a breakout.
- He could be near the top of the defensive players this year. He has a chance to be one of the three best guys on this unit as a junior. Physically, he has it all. He is quick, light on his feet, explosive, and strong. He showed flashes as a freshman and showed it regularly as sophomore that he can be a great player. He just needs to become a consistent, dominate force and then he could be talked about as one of the best in the league.
- I think Zaycoven makes big plays with more consistency. I would like to see Keke be more impactful in terms of being a big play interior lineman and I think he can be. I think he can provide a tremendous interior pass rush. If he can do that, that is where he will wreak havoc this fall.
- Keke should return for his senior year, barring a monster junior season. He was a good player last year. For him to leave after this year, he would have to have a dominant and tremendous season. He can be a high draft pick after the 2018 season, he could be in the first round. He has the potential. He looks like a four-year guy with a breakout junior season. He has all the measurables and he has an NFL defensive tackle body, quickness, athleticism, and all those things playing college football right now.
- I think he is on a natural progression. He was good last year, I think he will be really good this year, and will be great, one of the best in the league, his senior year. He reminds me a lot of when A&M joined the SEC and played Florida. He reminds me of one of the players on the Florida defense. They had a deep and talented group.
- He’s got it all. I would play him as much as he can play. I think he is equally as dominant against the run and pass. I’m not worried about the numbers with him. I think he can be an interior guy with 15 tackles for loss and five or six sacks this year, maybe even a seven sack guy.
